Badgerys Creek: A Ghost Town

Typed on Saturday 26th March 2016:

Hi all.
Today, Saturday 26th March 2016 i went for a drive to Badgerys Creek near Bringelly South West Sydney.

As most of you may know the suburb of Badgerys Creek will soon be levelled to make way for a new Domestic & International Airport.

There are very few residents in Badgerys Creek as they have been told to leave as construction of the new airport will begin at the end of 2016.

Street after street, emptyness.
Countless driveways, letterboxes and white picket fences yet no houses to complete the picture.

A majority of the houses have been demolished yet a couple remain.. Abandoned and left to decay.

An abandoned school which has seen better days.
One of the school buildings has been mostly burnt out.

An old bus stop which once saw kids waiting to get their bus home.

A car sits on a gravel road.. Gutted.

A Cemetery which will soon be relocated.

A rusted gate lock.

It was good driving through the area taking plenty of photos to document everything before the airport is operational.
The airport is due to open in the mid 2020's.

I had a rather scary experience while being in the area.
While driving around taking photos of the abandonments there was an angry looking person in a silver car.
I decided to make my way towards Elizabeth Drive just incase he was to try run me off the road.
When he pulled up beside me i realised he had kids inside the car so i thought "he is just a family man, nothing to worry about".
Not likely.
About half an hour later while exploring another one of Badgerys Creek's deserted streets i see the same car.
This time the guy meant business.
He was yelling at the top of his lungs F*ck off! F*ck off!
Thats when i thought it would be a good time to abort the exploration.

I don't know if he was a random angry guy, neighbourhood watch or someone trying to protect Badgerys Creek.

In the end id never do anything to damage anything in the area.

Anyway.. That was my day!

Thank you for reading.
I filmed a lengthy video which will be uploaded to Abandoned Oz on Sunday 27th March 2016.

Tangara T106 Update

Typed on Friday 25th March 2016

Hi all.
Welcome to another STV Blog.

A lot of you have asked me when Tangara T106 is going to come back to Sydney after having it's major upgrade.
It has been at UGL Broadmeadow for almost 2 months now.
The last thing i heard is that a couple of weeks a go it was in one of the sheds completely stripped out.
The Tangara Technology Upgrade is suppose to take about 4 weeks per Tangara Set (maybe less).
As T106 is the first to get the upgrade it will take a bit longer as it's pretty much a prototype.

I will definitely be out to photograph and film T106 leave UGL on the day it is released.

The Tangara Technology Upgrade is suppose to include CCTV, internal PIDS, new driver dash etc.
It may or may not get a new livery.

More info will be shared as soon as it comes to hand.

Thanks for reading.

Hi everyone!
Welcome to another STV Blog.

I just want to give you guys a bit of an update on Sydney Trains Vlogs The Movie 3.

I haven't filmed that much more of it since the last update.

Ive worked on the Sydney Light Rail chapter a little bit.
All up there is about 15-20 minutes of footage.
As per the last 2 movies i won't accept anything under an hour.
I want this movie to reach 1 hour and 20 minutes worth of footage.

In the coming weeks ill be really stuck in to filming the movie so that i can get it uploaded sometime before June/July.

Ill type up some more regular updates between now and the upload date.

Thank you all for reading!

Happy Easter!

Friday 25th March 2016:

Hey all and welcome to another STV Blog!

I want to wish you all a very happy easter!
I hope you all have an amazing day.
Most of all stay safe and be careful on the roads.

I won't be doing much over the easter long weekend.
Today i filmed a video at Summer Hill featuring over 60 trains in just over 23 minutes.
That will be uploaded tomorrow (26/3/2016).
Im also working on a video featuring Olympic Park easter show event trains at a few locations so that should be an action packed Vlog.

Let me know in the comments what you are up to this easter!

Thank you all for reading another STV Blog!

Sydney's New Driverless Train

Sydney's New Driverless Train:
Saturday 19th March 2016:

Hi all!
Welcome to another STV Blog.

On Friday 18th March 2016 i went to the Sydney Royal Easter Show at Olympic Park just to see the Sydney Metro mockup train carriage.
Yes.. I paid $40.50 to access the show just to get photo and video footage of the carriage. Crazy i know.

Sydney Metro is under construction and will be open to the public in the first half of 2019.
Sydney Metro will consist of 5 converted stations (converted to Metro with screens) the converted stations being:
Chatswood
North Ryde
Macquarie Park
Macquarie University
Epping

There will be 8 brand new stations from Epping to Cudgegong Road.
The new stations will be underground and above ground on the new sky train.
Here are the new stations:
Cherrybrook (Semi Underground)
Castle Hill (Underground)
Showground (Norwest)
Bella Vista (Underground) open for correction!!
Kellyville (SkyTrain)
Rouse Hill (SkyTrain)
Cudgegong Road (Semi Underground)

Here is a map below:

Now.. On to some features of the new trains.
The mockup carriage is 2/3 of the length of the proper carriages (due to start production in 2016.

Feature 1:
Green means doors open.

Feature 2:
Red means doors closed.

Feature 3:
These trains will be driverless so there is no need for a drivers compartment so that passengers can look out the front/the rear of the train.

Feature 4:
The front of the carriage.
Notice the lights below the left window at the front? Funky huh?

Feature 5:
The gap between the train and the platform will pretty much be non existent allowing people with disabilitys to enter and exit the train with ease and without help from staff.

Feature 6:
A guards light? Please explain seeing these trains won't have a guard lol!

Feature 7:
Orange seats are for disabled people etc.
Grey seats are for everyone else.

Feature 8:
Bright doors!

Thank you all so much for reading another STV Blog!
