The Last Transperth B Series Transfer!

Typed on: Tuesday 25th May 2016

Hi all and welcome to another STV Blog.

In this Blog I want to talk about the final Transperth B Series transfer.

Before I do, for those who don't know what a Transperth B Series set is.
The B Series is the newest type of passenger train to be delivered and service Perth's rail network in WA Australia.
There is a photo of one above.

The final B Series Set has been delivered to Perth. The set is B116.
I filmed it pass East Maitland on 17/5/2016.
For the video please visit the link below:

The photo on the top of this topic shows the final set on transfer through East Maitland in the Hunter region of NSW.

B116 is the final set to be delivered until the second half of 2017 when 10 new B Series sets will start production.
The set numbers will be 117 through to 126.
117 is expected to be delivered in late 2017 or early 2018.

Red Set F1 & The NSW Transport Heritage Expo

Red Set F1 & The NSW Transport Heritage Expo:

Hi all and welcome to another STV Blog.

Today I want to talk about our iconic Red Set (or commonly known as Red Rattler) set F1.
F1 will be at the NSW Transport Heritage Expo on the June long weekend.
For the first time in over 10 years you will have the chance to relive memories and ride on Red Set F1.
F1 will be reenacting the first electric passenger service from Central to Oatley and return.
It will also be running 3 trips on each of the 3 days from Central to East Hills and return.
Lets not forget the great train race which will feature Red Set F1, Green Steam Locomotive 3642 + Carriages and Blue Diesel Locomotive 4001 + Carriages.

This will be the first time I have ever seen a train race with 3 types of trains (electric, steam and diesel).

I have very recently filmed a video of F1 on it's test run from Flemington to Carlingford and return.
